Drew Tegeler
Ayahuasquero/ Tour Guide/Co-Founder
Drew’s signature Butterfly Medicine has evolved with him since studying ethnobotany 20 years ago. For over a decade he lived his life seasonally traveling north to Alaska during the summer to lead tours, and south in the winter to further explore traditional plant medicine in the jungle. His path led him to sit with many teachers but most notable and influential is a family of Shipibo Elders in Peru with whom he has trained, completed several dietas, and learned the traditional icaros he sings in ceremony. Butterfly Medicine is meant to inspire you to heal, fulfill your dreams and create a positive impact on the world around us.
Stormy Atlantis
Co-Founder/Educator
Stormy is the creative force behind Gaian Rhythm. She majored in Art with a concentration in photography while in college and then worked in the marketing field as a Creative Director. She creates the content, answers the messages, and oversee’s all retreat/ tour planning & logistics. Stormy is incredibly passionate about seasonal alignment and tuning into earths natural cycles. She originally explored this passion through her YouTube channel in a quarterly series called “Seasonal Seven". Now she presents that knowledge at our weeklong retreats in the form of daily workshops. Stormy’s spiritual quest began young at the age of 9 when a book about earth magic fell into her lap. She began going to the library and reading everything she could across the spectrum of spiritual and esoteric philosophies. It is with this knowledge that she teaches courses and runs many of our workshops. Stormy is also a professional tarot reader, and is currently formally studying ancient astrology.

Lead Facilitator
Teddy can be found at all of our retreats overseeing every detail to ensure guests have a good experience outside of ceremony. If you ask one of our staff members where something is, or when something is, they will probably ask Teddy. Additionally, he provides a strong, stable, grounding presence in ceremony, and is regularly thanked by guests for the feeling of comfort he brings.

Chef/Musician
Dale is the man who brings us sustenance! Seen here with his wife, Kate, he is the kitchen wiz who makes magical Dieta friendly food at all of our retreats. He is also a guitar teacher who brings his musical mastery to ceremony. He often plays guitar instrumentals, or along with someone singing during ceremony. Dale speaks in poetic lyricism in all of our groups and is deeply loved in the community.

Integration Specialist
We half jokingly refer to Kate as “The angel who hovers above us all.” This title originated as comment from one of our guests. It’s pretty accurate so we’ve been saying it ever since. Kate has a sweet, soothing demeanor which comforts everyone around her. Kate runs zoom calls every week for anyone who has ever sat with us to work through and process whatever is coming up for them. Her angelic nature is also evident when she sings in ceremony, often with her husband, Dale, creating heavenly music at our retreats.
Facilitators
While Teddy, Kate and Dale are the core of the team, we have other facilitators who rotate and help out as their schedule allows. Each of them bring their own unique magic to retreats, and each is loved by our community.
Our Story
Once upon a time, a woman named Stormy and a man named Drew flew out to Cherry Valley, California, to facilitate at an ayahuasca retreat…
Okay, okay, we won’t write a storybook romance, even though it kind of is one.
In early 2021 Stormy and Drew both flew to southern California to help out with a retreat. They got along, and bonded a little over some interesting conversation, but nothing spectacular. Stormy lived in Michigan and Drew lived in Florida, so it was just hello, goodbye, and they added each other on Facebook.
But the universe is divine and sometimes lacks subtlety in its synchronicities. So, a few weeks later they both ran into each other AGAIN at a week-long retreat in Tennessee. Again, both were there to help out. Now a Michigander and a Floridian meeting in California is one thing, but to meet again in Tennesee… that’s just not something you ignore. They were inseparable from the beginning to the end of that retreat. Stormy was teased by the other facilitators with things like “What is he, your butler?” as he carried around an umbrella over her in the rain.
When the retreat was ending the question was posed: “How do we keep seeing each other?” and a plan was devised to meet in Denver in a month’s time to embark on a 5-week road trip adventure. And so they did. From Denver across Utah to Nevada and down back through southern Utah, Arizona and then back to Colorado, over to Summer Camp Music Festival in Illinois, and back to Stormy’s House in Michigan.
After that, Drew flew back to Denver, served a retreat, picked up his car, drove it back to Michigan, and he’s been there ever since.
About 4 months later, Stormy finally sat in one of Drew’s ceremonies. She was incredibly nervous as she had only previously drank with Taita Pedro, a Colombian medicine man who had served her every cup she ever drank the 3 years prior. But somewhere in the middle of that ceremony, Stormy vowed to the Medicine that she would put all of her organization and marketing skills to work to help Drew serve as many people as he could. Her life was forever changed by the magic of Butterfly Medicine, and so their romantic relationship expanded and their medicine partnership began. Stormy now sits next to Drew in every ceremony as well as runs the behind-the-scenes operations. If you’re talking to “us” you’re most likely talking to her.
Just over a year after that fateful Tennesee meeting, Gaian Rhythm is born. The child of both of their philosophies, experiences, and skills.
Over the course of the next 6 months they met the amazing people that we now call our team: Teddy, Kate & Dale. Each person has their own amazing strengths and and we could not be happier about the group of humans we’ve assembled to do this sacred work.
